Author Reviews:

"Zack is an adorable example of how siblings of people with autism can be amazing sources of love and force of change"
-- Jenny McCarthy, Founder of Generation Rescue, Author of Louder Than Words, Mother Warriors, and Healing and Preventing Autism, and Celebrity Autism Advocate

"Just finished Saving Deets! Loved it, Zack. The stories were great, but I especially loved hearing your perspectives. LOVE your honesty, it literally made me [laugh out loud], because you had the courage to say what so many 'grown-ups' tiptoe around. Your insights about Autie-Dads, other people who are not aware, [and] family issues, BRAVO, my man, for speaking up! I hope many, many people read it and LISTEN to what you are saying..I loved when you talked about Not forgetting to prioritize spending time and connecting with the child behind the autism awareness movement - so important. I think so many family members forget and leave it up to the therapists and teachers . 'Autism does not have to be this bad thing that people make it out to be. I see it as a message from God that we have to unravel and read, and use it to change this fallen world one step at a time.' I want people to hear that!! Carolyn Myss says one meaning of the story of Christ's birth is 'The divine will always speak to us through a humble package' Your words were clearly from the heart, I love your uncensored style.Saving Deets! is a fun read with a very important message."
--Tara McClintick, Early Childhood Special Needs Teacher, author, and Autism Advocate.

"Zack Gonzalez represents the generation of autism siblings who will lead the country to better research and more care for people on the spectrum. As Mom to three daughters with an ASD diagnosis, it's comforting to know Zack will be one of their peers."
--Kim Stagliano, Managing Editor of Age of Autism and Author of All I Can Handle; I'm No Mother Teresa

"SAVING DEETS! is an inspiring story of a family's love and devotion to their family member with autism. Zack not only shares his personal experience, reflecting on how his life has been touched by autism, but also shares the stories many people throughout the autism community that have been affected by this disorder. His book is relatable, honest, and a great resource for families looking for guidance throughout their own journey. SAVING DEETS! is a must read!"
--Generation Rescue, Jenny McCarthy's autism organization

"I owe Zack an apology. I got an electronic copy of his book Saving Deets a few months ago. I just was not in the right frame of mind to sit down and read what I thought would be a slog fest through the trials of initial Diagnosis and the heartbreaking frustration all of our families deal with. Maybe it was scary just the thought of having to read the book on the computer. You know I am kind of old school.
To my surprise both the ease of reading on the iPad and the content of the book made this much more than a page turner. Zack has a spirit of honesty, hopefulness and wisdom beyond his years. He details his relationship with his brother but there was so much more. Again, this was one of those books where, going in I assumed a downer. Zack went out and got people to echo the refrain of the moment. Twist and turnsabound.
It is so nice to learn how an advocate comes of age. Zack's stories just made me smile. It is an easy weekend read with many resources for the new to Autism Community. It also is not dry and cumbersome that the mainstream community should want a peak.
I was especially touched when Zack counseled that we need to look after ourselves. It is so easy as advocates to pour your heart soul and basic energy into others that we can neglect the ones we are fighting for. For a first time author it was amazing. I will be first inline for future projects by this young advocate. Thank you Zack for allowing us a peek into your families world.
If I did not make it clear... I highly recommend this book. Great gift for Family members this Holiday season. Especially a Brother or Sister dealing with a family member on the spectrum.
                              --TannersDad Tim Welsh, Internationally-know Advocate

“Zack is able to articulate his experiences in such a way that makes them accessible. He relays his stories with humor, enabling himself not only relatable, but also the best kind of advocate for the spread of awareness.”
-- Courtney Porter,Vice President of OCHSA Film Appreciation Guild
