because zack actually has a heart.
"Zack is an adorable example of how siblings of people with autism can be an amazing source of love and force of change."
- Jenny McCarthy (refers to Saving Deets!, 1st ed.)
When he heard that his younger brother, Ethan, had autism, Zack never looked back. Taking after his mother's lead, he began attending fundraisers and spreading awareness until, at age fifteen, he decided to begin his own activism, creating Play Now for Autism (a series of sporting fundraisers for children on the autism spectrum), which proceeded many other projects and events, including the Laugh Now for Autism chain.
He is now a internationally recognized voice for autism, taking a stand and shaking the ground at any chance possible. He has now authored two autism-related books, Saving Deets! (about his family's journey with autism) and Charity Bites! (about his experience as an activist).
In 2009, Examiner.com named him one of the year's Teens That Inspire and in 2011, the Association of Fundraising Professionals awarded him the title of Outstanding Youth Volunteer.
He currently hosts it's on with Zack, his comedic awareness-based web show, titled after his former awareness-based radio show.
"Zack Gonzalez represents the generation of autism siblings who will lead this country to better research and more care for people on the spectrum. As Mom to three daughters with an ASD diagnosis, it's comforting to know Zack will be one of their peers."
- Kim Stagliano (refers to Saving Deets!, 2nd edition)

"Autism is a disorder that I have to live with, even though I don't have it."
- Zack (Quote from Saving Deets!)
